Tenel Ka stood beside Jacen. It had been 2 months since he told her he loved her. She sat quietly thinking.
"Have you told your parents that you love me?" Tenel Ka finally whispered. The others, Jaina, Jade, Lowie, Han, Leia, and Chewie, were down the hill playing a game of sabacc. Jacen and Tenel Ka stayed on the hill to talk.
"No, I think I should wait." Jacen told her.
"Well, we better get down there." Tenel Ka said to Jacen. She hadn't given an answer to Jacen's "I love you" speech, she was still thinking, 'Is this the man I want to spend the rest of my life with?' They were both 18 and Jedi Masters.
"May I kiss you?" Jacen asked, surprising Tenel Ka.
"You may."
Jaina came up the hill, shouting to them, "Hey guys! Are you going to join us or what??" Tenel raced down the hill, Jacen still standing like he was about to kiss someone.
That night after the training, Tenel Ka invited Jacen to her room. "You wanted to see me, Tenel Ka?" he asked.
"Yes, I wanted to tell you something," she said. "I love you." her voice crackled.
"Will you capture me if you want to marry me?" Jacen joked.
"Yes."
"Oh." Tenel Ka walked toward him, put her arms around him and kissed him. Jacen pulled back, surprised.
"I'll see you around, Tenel Ka." He walked out of the Princess' room.
Jacen took a cold shower and dressed into his nightclothes. He knocked on Jaina's door, then noticed the sign on it. "Please leave us be!" it said. Jade and Jaina must be in there, Jacen thought, but he had to talk to someone who was not his parents. He knew where to go. Jacen went down a long corridor and turned right. He knocked on the door.
"Come in." a voice called.
He stepped in. "Tionne may I talk to you??" he asked.
"Why of course Master Solo."
"Just Jacen." he said.
"All right...Jacen." Tionne motioned for him to sit.
He sat and told her that he had told Tenel Ka he loved her and that she kissed him. He wanted to know what to do. He looked into Tionne's Kind, mother-of-pearl eyes.
"I would do nothing for now." she said.
The next morning, Jacen sprang out of his quarters. He opened Jaina's door a crack to check on her. There she was, lying in bed with her husband Jade. He closed the door and heard a voice.
"What are you doing young man?!" It was See-Threepio, the most annoying droid in the galaxy.
"I was checking on my sister. Is that okay?" Jacen turned around, annoyed.
"Oh, I'm sorry Master Jacen!"
"That's okay Threepio." Jacen left Threepio pondering as he sneaked out of the temple and walked into the jungle. He sat down and sensed something familiar, but he didn't know what. Suddenly a giant fibercord wrapped around him. He turned around and yelped in surprise.
"Hey Tenel Ka, why'd you tie me up?" He joked nervously.
"I am taking you to Master Skywalker," she said.
Anakin stepped outside. "Jacen, Tenel Ka has you wrapped up like she was going to capture you." he said.
This is it, Jacen said to himself. She wants to marry me! That had to be it! He walked to the audience chamber where Uncle Luke was standing in awe.
"Tenel Ka, you said you had something to tell me, but I didn't know it was this important," uncle Luke said.
"I wish you to marry us." she said in a stern Hapan voice.
"I can't. Your mother would have to." He looked at Jacen sympathetically.
"Then escort us to my ship, no questions asked."
Jacen kept quiet, but he felt his uncle in his mind asking, "Jacen, did you know she was going to do this?"
"No!" Jacen replied. Jacen, Tenel Ka, and Master Skywalker entered the Rock Dragon, Tenel Ka's ship. They set a course for Dathomir. In just a few hours they made to the planet. They walked out and into an ambush.
"Watch out!" Jacen yelled.
"I will kill you for killing my Aunt Tamith Kai!" A woman yelled. She must be the Nightsister Shira, Tamith Kai's niece Jacen thought.
"I will make Jacen my own husband," Shira was yelling at Uncle Luke and Tenel Ka. Jacen broke free of the fibercord and unclipped his lightsaber, igniting it. Tenel Ka and Luke did the same. A force stronger than the three's power put together knocked Tenel Ka and Luke down, dragging Jacen forward.
"Jaina!," Jacen yelled in his mind. "Need help on Dathomir!"
Meanwhile on Yavin 4 Jade and Jaina were sleeping. Jaina turned over, her Force intuition rippling with a sense that something wasn't right. She sat bolt upright in bed, hearing Jacen's call. "Jaina! Need help on Dathomir, Tamith Kai's niece strong in the dark side!" The mind message ended. Jaina dressed quickly, waking Jade to tell him of Jacen's plight.
"We have to hurry," Jade exclaimed as he dressed. They hurried for the SoloSaber. They took off for Dathomir.
Jacen woke up, startled, in a small cage. He saw his lightsaber a few feet away. If only I could reach it, he thought. He called the lightsaber with the Force, bringing it closer. It finally ended up in his hand. He ignited the green beam of energy, slashing at the cage and leaving only light marks.
"Ah, you're up." a young female voice said.
Jacen spun around. It was Shira, the evil Nightsister niece of Tamith Kai. "Today will be glorious. Not only will I get to see the destruction of the great Jedi master Luke Skywalker and Jedi Mistress Tenel Ka, but I will have a king by my side who will do it for me." she laughed a cold laugh.
"What are you talking about?" Jacen asked, dumbfounded.
"The first time we make love, your mind will fill with the dark side and destroy your uncle and wife-to-be. Without warning, there was yelling and blaster fire. Shira opened the cage and jumped in.
"NO!" Tenel Ka yelled. She grabbed Shira by the neck with her fibercord, pulling her out of the cage. "You will leave us be or die." Tenel Ka said coldly.
"Let's leave this place, Tenel Ka." Jacen said, using the Force to unwrap the fibercord around Shirra's neck. It left a red mark.
"Thank you for saving me Master Solo. I was going to make you the next Master of the dark side, but it's your choice." Shira said coldly.
"I wish to be with Tenel Ka." Together, Jacen and Tenel Ka walked out of the small tent and toward the palace.
Leia Organa and Han Solo rushed greeting their oldest son. "Are you all right?" Leia asked.
"I'm fine mom." Jacen answered.
"We must hurry." Tenel Ka yanked them into a small audience chamber. There stood Prince Isolder and Tenenial Djo, Tenel Ka's parents. Tenenial Djo held an open book, and once again, Tenel Ka wrapped Jacen in the fibercord.
"Among the waters of Dathomir, I bind these two souls to join and become into one. If anyone opposes, please speak now."
Jacen was about to say something but was silenced by a tug of the cord. "Speak Jacen Solo," Tenenial Djo said.
"All I said was that I loved Tenel Ka, not that I wanted to marry her. I mean, we're only 18..."
"But I captured you, and we must be married!" Tenel Ka objected.
"She is right Jacen Solo. I am sorry."
"That's alright." Jacen sighed.
"Since no one opposes I bind them together, in soul, body, strength, mind, and the Force. I tell these children: be bound and be forever producing." Isolder spoke sternly.
"Kiss her, Jacen Solo, and be bound." Jacen held Tenel Ka tightly and kissed her.
Jaina yelled, "Wa hoo!" and the others ran up to them, hugging and kissing.
A few weeks later, after the honeymoon in Dome-Town, Tenel told her husband, "Jacen I am glad I chose you."
"So am I, or I wouldn't of been a completely light Jedi anymore. It was tempting actually, but I survived." They kissed.
Just then, Jaina, Jade, and Anakin burst into the room. "I guess we caught them at a bad time," Jaina said, watching them kiss.
"But they're married!" Anakin objected.
"Someday you'll be married too, Anakin." Jade laughed.
Yes, Anakin thought. He had someone in mind, but didn't say all that he was...happy for his older brother Jacen and his wife, Tenel Ka Djo Solo.
